What it changes for an SME
If you buy security services from Orange Cyberdefense, AI features may later help find weaknesses before attackers use them and speed up incident investigations. Orange plans to run the dedicated models on computing capacity in Europe, which can support GDPR, the EU AI Act and data-residency needs. The first wave targets some enterprise clients and the public sector; no timeline is given for SMEs. The commercial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
What you can do
- Ask your security provider where AI models run and which of your data they process.
- Check whether your penetration-testing or monitoring contracts already cover generative AI use.
- If you assess an AI tool on code or logs, require that processing stays in an environment you control.
